My gallery has been arranged into ‘rooms’ on this page, according to the style of project. I hope you enjoy this small selection of my work and possibly find some inspiration for your own. The gallery is constantly being updated, so do pop back from time to time.
Free Motion Applique
This is a great way of getting creative and painting with a sewing machine. These works of art make great wall hangings, but can also be turned into cushion panels, bunting and other useful items like storage tubs. I am always inspired by nature, scenes around me and the flowers and birds in my garden.
Inspired by a garden ornament in my father’s garden. This was an early attempt at free motion machine appliqué.This cushion cover was developed for a client from a photograph of their home. I have begun to enjoy adding background colour by using paint.
The background for the magpie was my first attempt at collage and I love the result. This wreath is much admired and I have incorporated the design into cushion covers for several clients. It was inspired by the textile artist, Jo Hill.I have developed a range of storage tubs incorporating my free motion art. This mini wall hanging combines everything I love about the sea; sailing, gathering flotsam in the dunes and spotting sea-birds. It won first place in a patchwork exhibition.
This giant wall hanging was developed for the Alpaca coffee company, and incorporates their logo and company ethos within the design. These Spring flowers were inspired by greetings cards and are part of a larger range. This is one of my personal favourite wall hangings and one I intend to develop further. The Batik fabric lends itself to an underwater theme, and the added dimension of the trapunto fish bring the work to life.
Quilting
Skilful quilting requires technical diligence and attention to detail. The perfectionist in me loves the mathematical elements to designing quilt blocks. Seeing a project through from design, fabric choice and cutting to piecing, backing and quilting can take years, but is always worth the wait.

Folk Art Appliqué
This hand stitched method of appliqué requires adopting a naive style. The trick is to ensure stitches are not even and to use an outline couch stitch to create a sketchy appearance. I became interested in this style after attending a workshop, and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. Some of my designs are shown below.

Bags
Bags are such a practical use for appliqué and patchwork and any bag pattern can be personalised and made visually more attractive by incorporating these thecniques.
