In this relaxed and extremely useful workshop you will be shown how to set up your machine ready to sew different types of fabrics. Learn how to use the different feet that come with your machine and get to practices sewing seems, topstitching and tackling tricky situations like curves and corners.
Leave with the confidence to tackle your own sewing project or to come back to one of our workshops!

Beautiful Notebook Cover

If you panic at the thought of sewing a straight line or have a sewing machine but don’t feel confident about using it, then this is the workshop for you!
You will have creative fun making choosing your fabrics and threads then will learn how to size the pattern to fit any notebook/kindle etc.
Then get sewing, lots of wavy lines and different stitch styles, to make your design really stand out. You’ll be shown how to set up your machine and use straight, zig zag and satin stitch with confidence.
Materials
All materials provided, including velvet and organza, buckram, fusible webbing and ribbon.

Make a Tote Bag

Learn how to add pockets and a contrast lining. Add some sturdy handles and an outer pocket and you have a very handy and stylish tote bag. Use the skills learnt again and again to recreate this bag in any size.
Materials Required
All materials provided but if you want to bring your own you will need 1/2 a metre of upper outer, the same for the contrast bottom and handles and the same amount for the lining. Message me for cutting out instructions.

All about Zips

If the thought of sewing in a zip leaves you undone, then come along and discover just how simple it really is!
You’ll be shown how to put an invisible zip into a seam – ideal for dressmaking, cushions etc and then you’ll learn how to make a zip up bag with an internal zipped pocket which you get to keep. It makes a really lovely gift and you’ll soon be sewing them for all your friends.

(Can be cut from a fat quarter, leaving spare for another project).
Contrasting 9 inch zip & 7 inch zip for internal pocket. Matching thread.

Easter Baskets

In this fun session you will be shown how to machine sew a very handy storage tub that makes a great Easter basket! Just fill with eggs and other Easter goodies and you have a lovely gift. Or you can add a handle during the workshop and it can be used on an Easter egg hunt.
You will learn how to vary the size and can take away the pattern. Because, these are so addictive you’ll soon be making them for all your friends.
