I began sewing and embroidering when I was 8, and progressed to making my own clothes, curtains, soft furnishings and even wedding dresses. I’ve been a teacher for over 20 years and enjoy the process of helping others to learn new skills. Gaining a City and Guilds Level 3 in Patchwork and Quilting finally gave me the push I needed to branch out into teaching sewing, and so I launched Stitchcraft in 2021, and delivered online courses in hand appliqué and patchwork and quilting.

Going part time as a teacher enabled me to work as a freelance sewing tutor, and since February 2022 I have delivered adult and children’s workshops in all aspects of sewing. I was thrilled when an opportunity arose to use the Mercantile Adventurers premises on Mondays and in the evenings, and I’m now focusing on delivering sewing workshops in their cosy café in Burgess Hill.
When I’m not teaching or walking my dogs, I enjoy designing projects and creating sewing kits to sell.
